3 more days till surgery day.

Today I am feeling pretty good. But a few days ago I was having a really rough time. Since I am on a clear liquid and protein drink diet right now it has been hard. I feel as if I am starving myself. And to make it worse I am on my period which if your a woman you know that makes you more hungry then normal.

I am a little upset at all the negative reaction I am getting out of my decision to have this surgery. People are constantly saying why can't you do the weight loss with out surgery? You did it before! Well to those people, you are not in my shoes. Obviously if that diet worked for me then I would not be needing the surgery!

And just so everyone knows why I am doing this and stop telling me the reasons I shouldn't do it. Please listen to this and do your research as I have.

I want to be able to run around with my kids before they are all grown up. Unfortunately I didn't have that with my mom. As my mom has been heavy all her life. Growing up she was never able to run around with us, play ball, or go on rides at the state fair. That was hard for me, and now as a over weight mom myself I am having to do the same thing. And my kids are always asking me to play this, play that and I can't do it.

Then another reason is my family has a history of diabetics, high blood pressure, etc... I have been fortunate not to have any of these illnesses and hoping to avoid them all together. So that I may live a longer and healthier life.

I know right now it is hard and I can't have all the foods I would like to have, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make to spend more of a quality and a healthier life with my family.

  1. I stumbled on your blog by accident.
My sister was considering GB 2 years ago (I wish she had blogged about it).
At the time she asked my opinion and I discouraged her about having the surgery. I didn't know that she had already gone through with the surgery 5 days before talking to me. She didn't want to hear negativity so she didn't tell anyone what she was doing.
She has had a very successful experience, lost 100 pounds and is happy and healthy.
Now I am wonder about having it done and will be reading your every post about your experience.
Thank you for sharing your journey.

  2. Your welcome. That is why I am doing this to share my experience and to look back at my journey.

  3. Poke how you doing with your after surgery?
